- ABC Highway
The ABC Highway is the main highway in
Barbados . Opened in1989 , it is named after three famous Barbadian politicians: John Michael Geoffrey Manningham Adams, Errol Barrow and Hugh Gordon Cummins. It stretches fromGrantley Adams International Airport in Christ Church to theBridgetown Port in Saint Michael, running through the centre of the island from one end to the other. The highway consist of both two-lane and
dual carriageway sections withat-grade intersection s, mostlyroundabout s. A 2006-2007 expansion project enlarged some sections and there was concern voiced about the project concerning the lack of a competitive tender process or studies to justify the costs.External links
