Goldfish (snack)

Goldfish are American snack crackers manufactured by Pepperidge Farm. The crackers come in several flavors and are shaped and colored like small, cartoonish goldfish. Approximately half of the crackers have smiles, while the others lack any expression. The brand's advertising emphasizes this by referring to the crackers with the registered trademark " The snack that smiles back! Goldfish!". In addition, the list of ingredients on its packaging states "made with smiles". Goldfish Crackers are baked and do not contain any trans fat.

History

pin-offs

Campbell's has created several spin-off products including Goldfish Sandwich Crackers, Flavor-Blasted Goldfish, multi-colored Goldfish (known as Goldfish Colors), Baby Goldfish (which are smaller than normal), and Giant Goldfish. There are also seasonably available color-changing goldfish, colored goldfish (come in a variety pack), and the sweet flavors which include chocolate graham, graham, and cinnamon graham. There was once a line of Goldfish cookies in vanilla and chocolate; chocolate has reppeared in the "100 calorie" packs.

Also, Goldfish are available in other flavors such as Red Hot! or Whole Grain pretzel and Blazin' Buffalo.

Appearances

*Goldfish snacks appeared in Garfield.
*In The West Wing first season episode The Short List, when told that press secretary C. J. Cregg likes 'goldfish', reporter Danny Concannon mistakenly buys her a pet goldfish instead of Goldfish snacks.
