Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation with 79,000 employees in 102 countries and global annual revenue of US $51.12 billion as of 2007. Their first acquisition was of Dynamical Systems Research Ltd, in 1986.

Yahoo! is an American public corporation and global Internet services company. Yahoo! is one of the most visited websites on the Internet, with more than 130 million unique users. The global network of Yahoo! websites received 3.4 billion page views per day on average as of October 2007, making it one of the most visited U.S. websites. Their first acquisition was of Net Controls in 1997.

Google Inc. is an American corporation, specializing in Internet search and online advertising. It is the largest American company (by market capitalization) that is not part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Google's initial public offering took place on August 19, 2004, raising $1.67 billion, making it worth $23 billion. Through a series of new product developments, acquisitions and partnerships, the company has expanded its initial search and advertising business into other areas, including web-based email, online mapping, office productivity, and video sharing, among others. Their first acquisitions were of Deja's Usenet archive, and Outride, Inc. in 2001.
