Woo has more than 15 years of experience in the media and communications industry. Prior to joining Channel NewsAsia, she served as
Vice-President ofCorporate Communications at parent companyMediaCorp .Woo first started working as a
copywriter inadvertising . She crossed over tojournalism thereafter and served as an assistant editor at "TODAY", a free English-language tabloid in Singapore.In addition, she sits on the academic board of the Jewellery Design and Management International School, where she contributes to the school's academic programme's communications courses. She is also an executive-committee member of the
Guild of Jewellery Professionals and Artisans (GJPA), a not-for-profit society headquartered in Singapore.Education
Woo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the

In
2006 , Woo set up a film-production company, Mythopolis Pictures, with Singapore-based American director Tony Kern, whom she is also dating.Together with Kern, she co-produced a film called "The Mitre Spell" which weaves a whimsy tale around the mysteriously-spooky, colonial-era Mitre Hotel off Killiney Road in Singapore. The hotel has been in the news as the subject of a multi-million-dollar family lawsuit. The film premiered at the 2007
Singapore International Film Festival .Another film Woo co-produced and Kern directed, "
