The 5th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The regiment was consolidated from the recruits and veterans of the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry and men recruited for the unformed 31st and 37th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiments. Later recruits and veterans of the 12th New York and 84th New York joined the regiment. The regiment was mustered out of service on August 21, 1865.
Total strength and casualties
