Šķēde (Shkede) - suburban settlement near
Liepāja ,Latvia , inMedze parish . Is located on the north border of the city. Šķēde was the biggestdacha cooperative in Latvia in the times ofLatvian SSR . One of the Šķēde's notable features are street names, which are called "lines" and numbered from 1 to 18. Typical Šķēde's address looks like: "Šķēde 1-15-2". Till 2005 main Liepājalandfill was located near Šķēde. Šķēdes poligons), the training center of Latvian army.Šķēde is known mostly because of Jews holocaust in 1941. In the memory of this event the memorial stone has been installed in the dunes near the Šķēde.
