"The Best of the Art of Noise" is a 1988 compilation album by the band The Art of Noise, released uner the ZTT label. It is subtitled "Art Works 12"" and features extended/full-length versions of many songs from 12" singles. In 1992, China Records reissued "The Best of" and added "Yebo," "Instruments of Darkness" and "Robinson Crusoe," while omitting the three tracks from the ZTT release: "Beat Box," "Moments in Love" and "Close (To the Edit)". Additionally, the versions of "Peter Gunn," "Paranoimia," "Legacy," "Dragnet" and "Kiss" on the 1992 compilation are presented in much different, shorter mixes.

The artwork of the 1992 reissue is identical to the 1988 release but tinted pink instead of blue. Because of this, the reissue is often referred to as the "Pink cover" version, while the 1988 original is referred to as the "Blue cover".
