- Edward C. Molina
Edward Charles Dixon Molina (
December 13 ,1877 -April 19 ,1964 ) was an American engineer, known for his contributions toteletraffic engineering .He wasautodidact inmathematics and entered theAT&T research department, laterBell Labs (1901). His invention of relay translators (1906) [US patent|1083456] resultedin the panel dial systems. Molina pioneered the use of "throwdowns", which in essence wereMonte Carlo simulation s of telephone traffic to find optimal capacity assignments fortrunk line s tocentral office s. [Bernard D.
