A&P Canada is a Canadian supermarket company owned by Metro Inc. of Montreal, which purchased the company from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, a German-owned retailer based in the United States, in 2005.

A&P first opened stores in Canada in 1927.

A&P Canada operates 81 supermarkets in the Province of Ontario under the A&P name. It also operates 55 supermarkets under the Dominion name in the Greater Toronto Area, 10 supermarkets under the The Barn Markets name in the Hamilton area, and three supermarkets under the Ultra Food & Drug name in Burlington and Guelph. A&P began opening discount supermarkets under the Food Basics name in 1995, and now operates 112 of these.

On July 19, 2005, Metro Inc. announced that it had reached an agreement with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. and its subsidiary, A&P Luxembourg S.à.r.l., to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of A&P Canada, for an acquisition price of $1.7 billion, consisting of $1.2 billion in cash and $500 million in the form of treasury shares of Metro. The sale was completed on August 15, 2005. A&P Canada's head office is still located in Toronto, and now operates Metro Inc.'s 32 Ontario-based Loeb stores in the Ottawa area and eastern Ontario.

On August 7, 2008, Metro announced it will invest $200 million consolidating the company's conventional food stores under the Metro banner. Over a period of 15 months, all Dominion, A&P, Loeb, the Barn and Ultra banners are to be converted to the Metro name.
