William Saletan

William Saletan is the national correspondent at Slate.com. Saletan gained notoriety in the fall of 2004 with nearly daily columns covering the ups and downs of the Presidential race. He currently writes the 'Human Nature' column. Previously, he wrote 'Frame Game' which analyzed the way current events are spun by politicians and the media and 'Ballot Box,' a column devoted to politics and policy.

A self described "liberal Republican," Saletan came out strongly against the re-election candidacy of George W. Bush. He investigated the source of his disenchantment with today's Republican Party in a series of dispatches from the 2004 Republican Convention. [ [http://www.slate.com/id// Slate Magazine ] ]

In a series initially posted Sunday, November 18, 2007 on Slate.com, Saletan assessed the question of whether race is a genetically determining factor in intelligence. He ultimately did not discount the hypothesis that it is, [http://www.slate.com/id/2178122/entry/2178124/ concluding] , "When I look at all the data, studies, and arguments, I see a prima facie case for partial genetic influence."
