Focal adhesion kinase

Focal adhesion kinase

Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) is a focal adhesion-associated protein kinase involved in cellular adhesion and spreading processes. [Lackie, J.M. & Dow, J.A.T., The Dictionary of Cell and Molecular Biology, 3rd Edition, Academic Press, London, 1999] It is used by cells to power microtubule motor proteins.
