- Sucrose-phosphatase
In
enzymology , a sucrose-phosphatase (EC number|3.1.3.24) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :sucrose 6F-phosphate + H2O sucrose + phosphate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
sucrose 6F-phosphate and H2O, whereas its two products aresucrose andphosphate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, specifically those acting on phosphoric monoester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is sucrose-6F-phosphate phosphohydrolase. Other names in common use include sucrose 6-phosphate hydrolase, sucrose-phosphate hydrolase, sucrose-phosphate phosphohydrolase, and sucrose-6-phosphatase. This enzyme participates instarch and sucrose metabolism .tructural studies
As of late 2007, 9 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|1S2O, PDB link|1TJ3, PDB link|1TJ4, PDB link|1TJ5, PDB link|1U2S, PDB link|1U2T, PDB link|2B1Q, PDB link|2B1R, and PDB link|2D2V.
