- Phosphatidylglycerophosphatase
In
enzymology , a phosphatidylglycerophosphatase (EC number|3.1.3.27) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :phosphatidylglycerophosphate + H2O phosphatidylglycerol + phosphate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
phosphatidylglycerophosphate and H2O, whereas its two products arephosphatidylglycerol andphosphate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, specifically those acting on phosphoric monoester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is phosphatidylglycerophosphate phosphohydrolase. Other names in common use include phosphatidylglycerol phosphate phosphatase, phosphatidylglycerol phosphatase, and PGP phosphatase. This enzyme participates inglycerophospholipid metabolism .References
