The Willows (magazine)

"The Willows" is an American magazine specializing in steampunk horror and Neo-Victorian short stories and poetry. It is named after "The Willows," a weird tale by Algernon Blackwood, and references the writings of Blackwood, Lord Dunsany, William Hope Hodgson, Arthur Machen, and H. P. Lovecraft as examples of its theme. It was founded in 2007 and its Editor-in-Chief is Ben Thomas, who is assisted by speculative fiction author Skadi meic Beorh acting as Contributing Editor. The Willows was mentioned in the "New York Times" article [http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/08/fashion/08PUNK.html "Steampunk Moves Between Two Worlds"] on May 8, 2008. The magazine is one of the only steampunk fiction magazines currently in publication, and is the only one to publish steampunk horror and vintage weird fiction.
