destra Corporation Limited was an independent Australian owned media and entertainment company based in Richmond, Victoria founded by Domenic Carosa.[1]
Destra was placed into administration in November 2008[2], with Prime forced to write off its investment in the failed company. Prime chairman and majority shareholder Paul Ramsay later described the investment in Destra as a "disaster"[3].
destra's interests spanned film, internet, music, theatre and retail, including Magna Pacific, JB Hi-Fi.
The company's shareholders include Prime Media and Lachlan Murdoch.[1] On 13 November, 2008, Destra Corporation was placed into voluntary administration.[4]
The divisions of Destra were sold in late 2008 in administration [5] to companies including Fremantle Media; Central Station Records; Brand New Media; Eddie MacGuire's Visual Entertainment Group; producer of the Discovery Channel's hit show Mythbusters, Beyond International; and Domenic Carosa's Dominet Digital.
