Tarantella (ballet)

"Tarantella" is a ballet made by New York City Ballet co-founder and balletmaster George Balanchine to Louis Moreau Gottschalk's "Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra", Op. 67 (ca. 1866), reconstructed and orchestrated by Hershy Kay. The premiere took place January 7, 1964, at City Center of Music and Drama, New York.
