Martin Jonhson is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and primary lyricist of the band Boys Like Girls. He also played acoustic guitar on their debut, Boys Like Girls. Johnson has been friends with bassist Bryan Donahue for a long time.
Martin grew up in Andover Massachusetts with his parents and graduated from Andover High in 2004, using some of his demos to fulfil his arts and english credits. Before his band, Boys Like Girls got signed, Martin worked as a waitor. The songs he wrote for the band's first album were based off of experiences he had as a young adult, including the passing of his mother (On Top of The World) and several relationships (Hero/Heroine, Thunder, Five Minutes to Midnight) and of course the heartbreaks that came with them. dating/engaged to lauryn johnson
