The GMC Terrain is a new mid-size crossover SUV to replace the related Pontiac Torrent [http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071217/FREE/728711372/1065 AutoWeek: Pontiac to lose Torrent to GMC] ] , and the body-on-frame GMC Envoy. It may also feature third-row seating. The Terrain will slot below the Acadia as its smallest SUV.

Coincidentally, General Motors sells the GMC Terrain as a rebadged Opel Antara sold in the Middle East [http://www.drivearabia.com/news/2007/11/14/world-premiere-for-gmc-terrain-in-dubai DriveArabia: World premiere for GMC Terrain in Dubai] ] , but shares the same Theta platform. This vehicle will be the GMC version of the Chevrolet Equinox. A version of this vehicle is currently sold in North America as the Saturn Vue.
