Pembina Institute

The Pembina Institute is a Canadian not-for-profit environmental policy research and education organization specializing in the fields of sustainable energy, community sustainability, global warming and corporate environmental management. Founded in 1985, the Institute has urban offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto. Policy positions

At different times, they advocate and "educate" against the use of nuclear power and fossil fuels ( coal power and petroleum), and large scale hydroelectricity, favouring conservation measures and renewable energy (biofuels, solar and wind power). Criticism

Pembina have identified their supporters as including the EnerGreen Foundation, Shell Environmental Fund, Suncor Energy Foundation, Transport Canada, TD Bank, the Community Lottery Board.
