Patrick N. Hogan (born January 15, 1979) in Silver Spring, MD, near Washington, D.C., was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 3A, which covers a portion of Frederick County, Maryland.

Background

Delegate Hogan was first elected in 2002 and only served for 1 term until he was defeated by Democratic challenger Sue Hecht in the 2006 election. Sue Hecht was previously a delegate that represented District 3, a district that covered both Frederick and Washington Counties. District 3A did not exist prior to the 2002 election.

Education

Delegate Hogan attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C.. After high school he graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002 with his Bachelor's degree in government & politics.

Career

Delegate Hogan served on the Environmental Matters Committee during his term in the Maryland House of Delegates. He was also a member of the Maryland Rural Caucus, the Republican Legislators Committee, the Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus from 2003 until 2007, and the Maryland Veterans Caucus from 2006 until 2007.

In addition to his legislative work, Delegate Hogan has been a member of the Steering Committee for the Frederick County Drug Treatment Court since 2003. He was on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments [http://www.mwcog.org/] in 2003. Finally, he was a member of the Task Force on Business-Owner Compensation in Condemnation Proceedings from 2004 until 2005.
