R. N. Taber

R. N. Taber (born December 1945) is an English poet. Raised in Kent, he graduated from the University of Kent in Canterbury in 1973. He is a librarian by profession, and currently lives in London, where he works on an occasional basis in information work. He has written for various poetry magazines and anthologies in England and America. Openly gay, he writes psycho-sociological poetry about both the homosexual and heterosexual communities, often experimenting with voices. Although he usually employs a first person narrative, Taber's works are a combination of observation, role play and personal experiences. A popular quote often published in his poetry collections is: 'Colour, creed, sex, sexuality... These are but part of a whole'.

In 1996 he published his first book, "August and Genet", a selection of his own gay-interest poems.
