nihongo|Lake Yamanaka|山中湖|Yamanaka-ko is the biggest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Located in Yamanashi Prefecture in the vicinity of Mount Fuji, Japan, it is used for boating, fishing, water-skiing, windsurfing, sightseeing and swimming. While wind from West, the lake provides the smooth lift for gliding at mount Myouyama.

Access

Early in the morning, when the Tomei and Chuo Expressways are fast, it takes an hour from Tokyo. Around noon the traffic becomes heavy and it may take few hours. The return trip similarly depends on the time of day.
