Saumya Tandon

Saumya Tandon is an Indian actress. She is known for her role in the Sony TV aired soap Aisa Des Hai Mera, where she plays the role of a half-Brit girl named Rusty. Recently she starred in the Imtiaz Ali directed movie Jab We Met, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, where she plays the role of Kareena's sister.

Early life

Saumya did her MBA in Delhi. Her dad was a lecturer in Ujjain. She is an ardent Jagjit Singh fan and Poet writer .She was born on 3rd November 1979.She completed her schooling from st.mary's convent school,ujjain.

Career

Modelling and Soaps

Saumya took up modelling assignments early in her career. She has done ad films and have been the first runner-up at a Femina Cover Girl contest. She auditioned for the role of Rusty in Aisa Des Hai Mera in 2005 and got it in early 2006. She also shot for a music video, titled Barsaat (composed by Pravin Bharadwaj) and shall also be seen in the soap Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni on Star Plus as Ria. However she recently quit the serial.and she did a leading role in album barsaat rain of luv.....

Movies

Saumya made her movie debut in the Imtiaz Ali directed romantic movie Jab We Met, starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. She plays the role of Roop, Kareena's cousin sister. She also acted in a 30 minute festival film produced by a Canadian production house Maya, where she has as her co-star Khalid Siddiqui, who acted in the movie Joggers' Park.
