The skypilot is a perennial herb endemic to California where it grows in the High Sierra amidst the rocks of talus slopes. The plant is low in height, glandular and hairy, and has distinctive, almost cylindrical leaves made up of many small nubbin-like leaflets. It bears rounded
inflorescence s of eye-catching lavender to powder-blue flowers.External links
