Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC) is a major's degree and master's degree school in Santo André. Created in 2004, UFABC is a new project for universities.
Its major's degree is made in two independent phases; in the first part all students study three years in a course named "BC&T" (Major's in Science and Technology), that gives the student some kind of preparing for all areas in science and technology. After the "BC&T" the student have to choose among a new degree in these areas or keep with the Major's in Science and Technology degree only. The new degree areas that the student can choose are the following:
