Walter George "Wally" Monson (
November 29 ,1909 –January 9 ,1988 ) was a Canadianice hockey player who competed in the1932 Winter Olympics . He was a member of the Canadian ice hockey team which won the gold medal. He played all six matches and scored seven goals.After playing amateur ice hockey with the Saint John Beavers and the
Pittsburgh Yellow Jackets , Monson went to theUnited Kingdom to play professional ice hockey with theHarringay Racers between 1936 and 1940. AfterWorld War II , Monson returned toWinnipeg where he coached theWinnipeg Monarchs to theMemorial Cup in 1946.He was inducted into the
