Sunline Stakes

The Sunline Stakes is a Group 2 Australian thoroughbred horse race for fillies and mares aged 3 years old and upwards, under weight for age conditions, over a distance of 1600m.

The race is named in honour of the champion horse Sunline.

It is held annually at the Moonee Valley Racecourse in Melbourne.

Race History

1981 - 2004 held over 1600m
2005 held over 1500m
2006 onwards held over 1600m

1981 – 1990 was a Listed Race
1991 – 1994 was a Group 3
1995 onwards Group 2

1981 - 2000 the race was known as the ‘Diamond Jubilee Stakes’
2001 onwards the race has been called the ‘Sunline Stakes’
