Imam Ghalib Bin Ali

Imam Ghalib Bin Ali

Imam Ghalib bin Ali was the last Imam of the Ibadi sect in Oman. He led the Ibadi sect from his Imamate of Oman in Nizwa and Oman proper starting in 1955 until the 1960s. He fought with Said bin Taimur, the Sultan of Muscat, but because the United Kingdom supported Muscat he was forced to go away to Saudi Arabia. There are conflicting reports as to whether he is currently alive or has died.
