James H. Olthuis is an inter-disciplinary scholar in
ethics ,hermeneutics , philosophicaltheology , as well as a theorist and practitioner ofpsychotherapy of a kind he calls "Relational psychotherapy."Life
Olthuis studied under H. Evan Runner in philosophy at
Calvin College , Grand Rapids, Michigan; then in theology atCalvin Theological Seminary ; and completed his education underAndré Troost , professor of philosophical ethics at the Free University in Amsterdam, where he received his PhD, his dissertation being a study of the English ethicist G. E. Moore.Positions held
Olthuis was a senior member at the
