Larry originally was a parody of a caller to the
Iain Lee radio show called Barry from Watford but the calls became more regular and the two characters became very different. The character was originally based in Catford but moved to Steeple Bumstead. Similarly, the calls themselves moved from theClive Bull programme to theBill Buckley programme. Larry (full name Larry Boggis) is apparently an elderly gentleman who is in his late eighties. Originally married to Maureen, he has had a variety of relationships ranging from a transsexual Liechtensteiner to a home help called Phyllis. In 2006, the calls stopped and Larry was revealed to be a character caller but in February 2007, Larry re-appeared apparently based in the Philippines and dating a woman called Imelda (which judging by the patter is actually former First LadyImelda Marcos ).Vesta Bules
