Tissington in the County of Derby, is a title in theBaronetage of Great Britain . It was created on22 January 1784 for William Fitzherbert, ofTissington Hall ,Derbyshire . The Fitzherberts descend from Norman knights and from the 12th century Fitzherberts ofNorbury Hall , Norbury, Derbyshire. They are related to the Fitzherberts ofSwynnerton Hall ,Staffordshire (seeBaron Stafford ).Alleyne, a younger brother of the first Baronet was created
Baron St Helens in 1791.Fitzherbert Baronets served as
High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1815,1865, 1866 and 1940.Tissington Hall has been the family seat since the
