- Southeast/Green Line (METRORail)
The Southeast Line will be a new 7 mile (11 km) line by METRO.
Course
The fontcolor|green|Southeast/Green Line will start from the Intermodal Station in Downtown Houston. It will then turn east at the Preston Station in Downtown Houston (this will also be the beginning of the fontcolor|brown|East End/Brown Line). The Southeast Line will then run with the fontcolor|brown|East End/Brown Line until the Leeland Station (first station away from the fontcolor|brown|East End/Brown Line).
The Southeast/Green Line will then turn south and head down Scott St., and meet up with the fontcolor|orange|University/Orange Line at the Elgin-UH Station. From there, the line will stay south and turn east on Wheeler (making a stop at UH South Station). From there the line will turn south onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and end at the Palm Center Transit Center.
Construction
Construction on the Southeast/Green Line will begin in the Spring of 2008. A completion date is currently set for Summer/Fall of 2011. Parts of the line will open up once completed until the entire line is finished.
