River Lee Diversion is located in the
Lee Valley close toEnfield Lock and to the north east corner of theKing George V Reservoir .History
As its name implies the River Lee was diverted to accommodate the construction of the
Chingford Reservoirs and theBanbury Reservoir .Course
Before skirting the eastern boundary of the King George V Reservoir the river is joined by the
River Lee Flood Relief Channel . The man-made, steep concrete banked water flows under Lea Valley RoadA110 road before forming a boundary with theWilliam Girling Reservoir . Flowing under theNorth Circular Road at the Lea Valley Viaduct before skirting the western side of the Banbury Reservoir. Now flowing close and parallel to theRiver Lee Navigation and passing to the west of theLockwood Reservoir . Continuing pastStonebridge Lock and thenTottenham Lock and then merging with the Lee Navigation below Ferry LaneA503 road .Water supply
