Rocket is an all-girl pop-punk band from Los Angeles, California.

Biography

Starting out as a threesome of Laurens, Rocket released their first album, "Too Hot to be Bothered," in 2004. After losing a Lauren, the band later evolved into a five-piece with the inclusion of Kristen Rocket on bass, Kelly Rocket on lead guitar, and Roxie Rocket on drums. Their first-ever live show was a headlining, sold-out smash at the legendary Viper Room, Los Angeles. The E.P., "Girls With Candy Hearts" followed in early 2006. Since then, the girls have traveled coast to coast, honing their craft during the 2006 Van's Warped Tour, and during the spring of 2007 as direct support for Butch Walker. Most Recently they completed a January, 2008 tour with Hellcat band Horropops and Geffen's The Pink Spiders. Rocket has also opened for the likes of Rancid, OK GO, Morningwood, The Sounds, Kill Hannah, The Honorary Title, The Dwarves, The Polysics and The Ark and has toured with SuicideGirls and The Lashes. In Summer, 2007, The band was selected as a finalist for the premiere season of The Next Great American Band on FOX. The taping for the show premiere was held at Lake Las Vegas, Nevada the week of August 18, 2007. During the broadcast eliminations, Rocket was selected by The Next Great American Band judges John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, drummer Sheila E. and "Australian Idol" judge Ian Dickson, to be one of 12 bands to compete in the finals.

Rocket made it to the final 10 bands. On November 9, 2007, they were eliminated from the show, along with Detroit rock trio The Muggs.

Rocket's next move is to record and release a record by January, 2009.
