- 12-oxophytodienoate reductase
In
enzymology , a 12-oxophytodienoate reductase (EC number|1.3.1.42) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :8- [(1R,2R)-3-oxo-2-{(Z)-pent-2-enyl}cyclopentyl] octanoate + NADP+ (15Z)-12-oxophyto-10,15-dienoate + NADPH + H+
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are [8- [(1R,2R)-3-oxo-2-{(Z)-pent-2-enyl}cyclopentyl] octanoate] and NADP+, whereas its 3 products are
(15Z)-12-oxophyto-10,15-dienoate , NADPH, and H+.This enzyme belongs to the family of
oxidoreductase s, specifically those acting on the CH-CH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is 8- [(1R,2R)-3-oxo-2-{(Z)-pent-2-enyl}cyclopentyl] octanoate:NADP+ 4-oxidoreductase. This enzyme is also called 12-oxo-phytodienoic acid reductase.tructural studies
