Tabby Callaghan (born Trevor John Callaghan on April 22, 1981 in Sligo, Ireland) is a musician and appeared in the finals of the ITV show "The X Factor" in 2004.

Career

Tabby played in many collectives and groups as a teenager growing up in Sligo and along with his brother Dominic formed his first real band called 'Petronella' in around 1998. The band had some success in Ireland and their single for "Feeling So Low" got into the top 20 singles chart in Ireland. Petronella also appeared in the TV show "Star For A Night".Unknown]

The X Factor

After Petronella dissolved, Tabby then formed "Boom", later to be renamed "DZ5". DZ5 auditioned for the first series of ITV talent show "The X Factor". The panel of judges which consisted of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne advised Tabby to re-audition as a solo act in order to proceed in the competition. Tabby was selected by Sharon Osbourne to be one of her acts at the live finals. Tabby came third in the series.

Post X Factor

After "The X Factor", Tabby participated in a fly on the wall "rockumentary" titled "What Tabby Did Next" which was shown ITV in August 2005, which conicided with the release of Tabby's debut single in Ireland. The single called "Number One", which was originally titled "Holes In My Shoes" as Tabby had announced on the rockumentary. The A Side - Number One is an original track penned by Tabby himself and Mark Hudson (who had worked with him on "The X Factor"). The B-Side was a cover of the Slade hit "My Oh My" which had been performed on the show. The single, only released in Ireland, went in at number 7 in the Irish charts on the first week of its release. In 2005 Tabby performed at the world famous home of The Beatles - The Cavern in Liverpool, England. During the gig Tabby kicked off his boots half way through the gig in order to play in his bare feet, which is Callaghan's trademark; however, his boots were taken from the stage by a fan. The Cavern Club management then provided Tabby had an old pair of boots in their office which had been left behind by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones.
