"B Boy Baby" is a song written by Phil Spector, Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry, and Angela Hunte. It was produced by Salaam Remi for Mutya Buena's debut album, "Real Girl" (2007), and was released as the fourth and final single from the album. It borrows melodic and lyrical passages from "Be My Baby" by The Ronettes. The chorus to Buena's version is sung by fellow British soul singer Amy Winehouse. The video has now started its rotations on UK music channels.The single is said to be yet another flop since last single "Just A Little Bit" failed to chart inside the UK Top 40. In fact, it was another commercial failure for Mutya and her label, charting at #73 on the UK Top 75. However, the little promotion the single did get has managed to get the album back into the official top 100 album chart, at #88 and rise at #83 on a second week of single release [ [http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_albums.php The Official UK Charts Company : TOP 100 ALBUMS CHART ] ] .

"B Boy Baby" has already been used in various adverts on UK televisionFact|date=September 2008.

Recentlywhen, "B Boy Baby" has surged in downloads and currently sits at #1 on the Greek's iTunes Top 10 Singles Chart. However, Mutya still remains dropped, even with the recent success in Greece.

Music video

The video aired on all the UK music channels on 4th December 2007 [ [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOKvD3ODhbk YouTube - Mutya Buena - B Boy Baby - Ft Amy Winehouse ] ] . It was filmed in Millennium Square, Bristol, and features "The Physical Crew" - a group of b boys (break dancers). Amy was suppose to be featured in the video, however due to her personal issues going on at the time she failed to appear.
