sedation ,anesthesia , muscle relaxation, andanalgesia in animals such as horses, cattle and other large mammals {non-human}. An analogue ofclonidine , it is anagonist at the α2 class ofadrenergic receptor . As with other α2 agonists, adverse effects includebradycardia , conduction disturbances, and myocardial depression.Yohimbine (Yobine) can be used to reverse xylazine effects. Inveterinary anesthesia , xylazine is often used in combination withketamine . No formal information in humans available. Xylazine is sold byBayer under the brand name Rompun.References
