Dr. Pema Ram (Hindi: डॉ पेमाराम) (born 1 March 1945) is a historian from Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. He is an authority on history and culture of Rajasthan as well as the Agrarian Movements in Rajasthan. He has written books on history of Rajasthan mainly in Hindi language though a number of books are in English language also. He was Professor and Head of History Department in Banasthali Vidyapith, a deemed University for Girls' Education in Rajasthan, for very long period. He is now retired and settled at Jaipur. He has authored many books and edited number of books. He was born on 1 March 1945 in the family of Shri Raju Ram Chaudhary of Bidiyasar gotra Hindu Jat family of village Jasnagar in Merta tehsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan, India.

Education

Ram received his M.A. and Ph. D. from University of Rajasthan and joined Banasthali Vidyapith in 1971 and served there as Lecturer from 1971 to 1986. He was promoted as Reader and served in that capacity from 1986 to 2002. He was Professor from 2002 till retirement.
