- Manjito
-
Manjito - is a version of the traditional Cuban cocktail Mojito, in which the carbonated water part of the mixture is, completely or to a large extent, replaced with the further addition of rum. Fresh Mango is blended into the drink and Sugar syrup is usually used in place of granulated sugar, in order to partially replace the part of the liquid component lost with the carbonated water.
It is not clear where this variation originated, but the name has been used to describe this drink for a number of years in Utrecht, Holland, near Amsterdam. It was highly popularized during the 2009 Summer Sunshine Funtime Experience. The tasty concoction has become a staple at many college bars and house parties alike.
