Founded by Mr. Elpidio L. Curiano in 1973.
It is the the first newspaper in the province of Zambales and neighboring towns of Bataan, Pampanga & Pangasinan.
Mr. Elpidio L. Curiano died in Nov. 18, 1982. His wife Susana C. Curiano took over the newspaper. Due to changing times and needs of the communities surrounding Olongapo City, Mrs. Susan Curiano created a sister newspaper, the Zambales News.
Mrs. Susana C. Curiano died on June 26, 2006. Both Olongapo News and Zambales News are now under the management of their children Judeline, Crispin, Carlito and Joel Curiano.
