Khartoum College of medical sciences was established in 1999 to increase to opportunists for qualified students to purse university education. It started with three faculties, Medicine, Dentistry and clinical pharmacy .there was great enthusiasm among students to enroll in the three Faculties from the first year of enrollment. The college even before starting its teaching programs has been awarded the trophy of the second higher education exhibition for the best equipped higher education institution in the Sudan.
The college is committed to expanding the College’s educational services to respond to a wider pool of medical students. A complete and fully integrated University campus has been approved and execution already started. Some Faculties shall move into the new well planned premises hopefully in February2005 .The rest of the faculties shall hopefully move in a year or two An institute shall be annexed to the college in order to qualify and train Dental Technicians. This institute shall be the first of its kind in the Sudan.
Additional Faculties and programmes approved. Two other Faculties. Laboratory Technology and physiotherapy as well as the Dental Technology programme have been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for the academic year 2004/2005
