Chiltern Radio

Chiltern Radio

Chiltern Radio is a name used by Global Radio for two stations in Bedfordshire.

History

Before the MW/FM frequencies were split by all commercial stations from 1988, it broadcast on two MW frequencies, 828 and 792 kHz. It also used to have Three Counties Radio's Bedfordshire frequency of 95.5 MHz FM. The current transmitter is at Zouches Farm, between Luton and Dunstable, close to the M1, which is on the Chiltern Hills.

In the 1990s, the Chiltern Radio Group bought Severn Sound in Gloucester. The Group was Bought by GWR Group in 1995.

Rebrand

On September 1 2007 the stations rebranded with a new logo and reverting from Chiltern FM to Chiltern Radio. The rebrand also included a new slogan "Today's best mix" in the jingles and sung jingles which now feature on-air produced by [http://www.music4.com Music4] in London.
