Global Radio for two stations in Bedfordshire.History
Before the MW/FM frequencies were split by all commercial stations from 1988, it broadcast on two MW frequencies, 828 and 792
kHz . It also used to have Three Counties Radio's Bedfordshire frequency of 95.5MHz FM. The current transmitter is atZouches Farm , betweenLuton andDunstable , close to the M1, which is on theChiltern Hills .In the 1990s, the Chiltern Radio Group bought
Severn Sound inGloucester . The Group was Bought byGWR Group in 1995.Rebrand
On
September 1 2007 the stations rebranded with a new logo and reverting from Chiltern FM to Chiltern Radio. The rebrand also included a new slogan "Today's best mix" in the jingles and sung jingles which now feature on-air produced by [http://www.music4.com Music4] inLondon .Chiltern Radio (97.6)
