Television Carrer
The very talented actress Navneet Nishan has taken a plunge into the television industry after successfully establishing herself in the Indian Film Industry. She meted out brilliant performances in Bollywood chartbusters like `Raja Hindustani`. But the most favorite performance of her life is that of the character portrayal of Tara. This gifted soul led a very exciting childhood. Her dad was in the Army and she did most of her college days in Patiala and spent her leisurely days in Chandigarh. Soon after she joined the National School of Drama and surprised the people out there with oodles of talent - acting directing and designing costumes as well. She had her first brush with acting in the world of theater, which according to her helps her to feed her soul. Then she entered into the Bollywood film industry and moved onto create a niche for herself. After foraying into the chaotic world of Bollywood she rocked the screen with both her positive and negative character portrayals in Bollywood chartbusters like `Raja Hindustani`, `Tum Bin`, `Kya Kehna` and `Salaam-E-Ishq`.Very few people are aware of the fact that the creative `nirvana` of Navneet Nishan lies in her theater performances through which she derive the bliss of her life. On the whole she has a persona, which has many layers to it, the prime ones include that of being an actress, painter, costume designer and a great cook. In her spare times she often loves to pick up her paint brush and let the creativity take charge. She is madly into crafts and has worked with anything ranging from glass, beads, acrylic and other similar stuffs. Her favorite city remains to be Chandigarh where the creative urge of hers started blossoming and she often goes into a nostalgic drive while taking a mere mention of the name of the city in any interview. Recently her fans were delighted to see her showing her brilliance on the small screen as well. Navneet Nishan ventured into the medium of television with shows like `Sabsey Bada Rupaiya` and `Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka`. In the later one she plays a negative role who is always after hatching malicious plans on the male lead of the show Kunal Sehgal (played by Eijaz Khan) and plotting to get control over the huge Sehgal Empire. She portrayed the quintessential vamp of the telly world but with a freshness of look and attitude. The former show however did not get noticed much by her viewers. Currently she is also into a repertory of actors who are joined hands to make A-grade movies in the Indian state of Punjab. Her upcoming film is `Apna Dil Hai Punjabi` which stars the Indi-pop singing sensation Gurdaas Mann. She claims that all of her films are socially responsible and she is also trying to get the touch of Bollywood glamour into her films. She has also taken up the additional responsibility of costume designing for her own ventures. Currently Navneet Nishan has also been seen in Nikhil Advani`s film `Good Boy Bad Boy`. About taking up another shows she has done loads of pilots, which have not materialized into actual programmes. The short stories in which she performed did not get noticed well by the small screen audience. About the television industry she claims that the television industry has changed a lot since her times and claims that the content was definitely better but the shows were not marketed well in her times. But it is an obvious expectation that her fans expect more out of her in the coming times and she promises to live up to their expectations.
