Doc Savage (band)

Formed in August, 1987, Doc Savage are a British punk band, based in Caerphilly, south Wales.
A pop/punk four-piece, The Sav, as they are known locally, are renowned for their energetic live shows. Coming from Welsh rock's heartland, the band have toured extensively across South Wales, and also into England, bringing their unique brand of Punk & Roll to many new converts.
Doc Savage claim their musical style to be influenced by The Damned, The Sex Pistols, The Jam, Weezer, The Carpenters, David Essex, Ray Burns, Elvis Aaron Presley, Dennis Waterman, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Forsyth, and Klaus Wunderlich.
They have acted as support in concerts given by such illustrious names as The Damned, Captain Sensible, The Buzzcocks, Leatherface, and The U.K. Subs.
The band's most successful period came in the late nineties, culminating in the release of the "Mutilated Jelly" CD on their own "It's The Ness Records" label on 8th December, 1997. During this period, they toured widely, playing gigs at many UK venues, including Loch Ness, Scotland.
Current members of the group are Miguel Emulsion (vocals), Iron Pete Six (guitar, backing vocals), Ricky Spank (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Jonnie Zero (drums). Occasional performers with the band are Lewis Lennox (drums), and Big Al Davies (bass guitar).
