"Jason mirabilis" is a species of sea slug, or more precisely a nudibranch, a marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusc in the family Glaucidae.

This is an aolid nudibranch.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, from Cape Brett to the Bay of Plenty.

Habitat

The nudibranch is found from the tidal zone to depths of up to 110 m.

Description

This is a heavily built aeolid, of striking coloration - the body is translucent pink, and the oral tentacles and cerata are largely translucent whitish.

Its length is up to 50 mm.

Life habits

This species feeds on hydroids.
