Alloa Waggonway

Alloa Waggonway was a railway line running around the Alloa area, Scotland, UK. It ran along Clackmannan and up alongside Sauchie towards Fishcross. There was a station named Sauchie Station. It was located north of Sauchie

Coal mining

The line was used to gather coal near Sauchie from very early on in the lines history.

Closure

The Alloa Waggonway closed to passengers in 1964 and continued with freight services until the early 1970's. The tracks were lifted shortly after and subsequently, Sauchie Station was closed.

The line Today

Today the line has been converted into a cyclepath running from Fishcross to the Bridge Chip Shop near the local Co-op.
