- Majin
Majin is a Japanese term that has two meanings depends on its
kanji . With kanji 魔神, it refers to "demon god". With kanji 魔人, it means a magical being (i.e. a genie or sorcerer) or a demonic or evil entity.Majin - demon god
Majin, referring to "demon god", has been used to describe leaders or rulers of a particularly vicious or ruthless nature.
It is a vital part in the
Shin Megami Tensei franchise and is also the title of one of its spinoffs,Majin Tensei .It is also the name of a family of character classes in the
Disgaea series of games, which are usually the most powerful available.Another anime serie where is used this term is in Majinga Z (original name of Mazinger Z), where Majin stands for "demon god" and ga stands for "piloted machine."
Also this happens with the most popular Mazinkaiser (Mazinkaisa) where Mazin -a.k.a majin- stands for 'God Demon' and kaiser stands for "overcome" so Mazinkaiser is "one who overcome the power of Gods and Demons".
The term Majin may also be seen in many Tales series games as one of the first moves the main characters often learn; Majinken which means "Demon God Sword".
In the videogame and anime series
Viewtiful Joe , Joe's Six machine jet can be landed inside of a giant robot called the Six Majin. This is an homage to Mazinger Z.There is also a more recent anime titled Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho, where the enemies that the main characters fight are mostly demon-like and they themselves have demon-like powers.
Majin - magical being
Although 魔人 literally means "demon man", it actually refers to magical beings or those who can perform magics. Some examples of majin are the Hindi
Asura and the ArabicJinn .In the
Western world it is mostly known for being the name of the "Dragon Ball Z " villain,Majin Buu and also of the character MajinVegeta .In the RPG , there is an unlockable class named Majin
In the "
Digimon " series, majin is also used as a classification of Digimon types. There is a
Yu-Gi-Oh! card called Lajinn, the Mystical Genie of the lamp.In "
Beet the Vandel Buster ", Vandels are also written as majin inkanji .Jaganshi Hiei, in the anime series Yu Yu Hakusho, seems to have a "majin form" that is only seen once in the series. This form is also seen in the movie "The Poltergeist Report". In his "majin form", Jaganshi Hiei adopts green skin, his hair parts into two spikes and many demonic eyes sprout all over his body.
