A Graham Steell murmur is a
heart murmur typically associated withpulmonary regurgitation . It is a high pitchedearly diastolic murmur heard best at the left sternal edge in the secondintercostal space with the patient in fullinspiration .The murmur is heard due to a high
velocity regurgitant flow across thepulmonary valve ; this is usually a consequence ofpulmonary hypertension . The Graham Steell murmur is often heard in patients with chroniccor pulmonale as a result ofchronic obstructive pulmonary disease .It is named for
