Mukkunnu is a beautiful village in Pariyaram Panchayathu, Taliparamba in the Indian state of Kerala. It is blessed with an exquisite natural beauty coupled with a rich cultural heritage. The melodious drift of the Kupam river, with the coconut lagoons and paddy fields, offers a breath-taking landscape, a rarity in the industrial environs of these days.

Overview
Mukkunnu is part of Pariyaram panchayath , Taliparamba Taluk. More than half of Mukunnu is covered with a beautiful river, called 'Mukkunu river' alternatively known as Kupam river. Mukkunnu has been at the forefront of cultural activities with a rich background. Mukkunnu can be reached either from Chudala bus stop on National Highway(NH17) or through North Kupam bus stop.
People
The people of Mukkunnu are generally well mannered and secularistic, living together in a tight knit community. Even if majority of the population is Hindu, there are many Muslim and some Christian families residing in this beautiful land surrounded by three hills (moonnu kunnu).
Temples
There are two three temples in Mukkunnu. One is the Anakkeel Bhagavathi temple, near Kupam. The festival of Anakkeel temple is in January every year. Another famous temple is the Karode Vishnu temple. It is on the western side of Mukkunnu. There is daily pooja in this temple. Another devastana is the 'Gulikan Sthana' near the public library. There is an age-old 'Arayal' tree here. And another temple called "Mukkunnu Nagam".For tast few years there was no Theyyam in that Nagam.
Public Library
Mukkunnu has an excellent Public Library which is a treasure trove of Malayalam literary works. This public library had played a crucial role before the penetration and accessibility of media to many households as it has provided a medium through which people has been accessing Radio(late 70s), Television( from early 80s), many leading newspapers and magazines published in Kerala.
The beauty of Mukkunnu is the famous Mukkunnu River. the river is actually starting from karnataka and run throughout the pariyaram puuchayath and finally joints the great Arabian Sea. When we sit near the river and watching the river, our sorrows will go off.
